RULES AND REGULATIONS

Entry fee must be paid in full before your first game.

The Coach/Captain is responsible for official roster at registration time, also making sure players check in appropriately before first game. The offical scorebook must reflect the coach's registration names.

All players must check in and sign thier team's official roster to be eligible to play in the tournament. A wrist band will be given to all players during registration to play in the tournament. These bands will be required to be worn during the duration of the tournament, if the band so happens to get broken or is taken off, the player will need to return to registration with an ID to get a replacement band. No other person or player, coach will be able to pick up another player's band under any circumstances. No player will be allowed to play without a player's band.

Player limit - 10 player limit. Officials will not allow players to play if they do not have a wristband and are not on the roster.

If you sign a roster with a team, you commit yourself to playing with that team and only that team. you will not be allowed to sub for any other player on any other team.

ALL ROSTERS WILL BE FINAL AFTER THE TEAMS FIRST GAME, there will be no adding players once the 2nd game has started.

NO HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY AT ALL!!!

Players must be 18 years of age or older to play.

A forfeited game is considered a played game.

By signing the roster, you agree to abide by all tournament rules and regulations.

Two (2) twenty (20) minute half will be played. Two (2) Time-outs will be given each half. (1) Full, and (1) thirty. The clock will run through the 1rst half without stopping. The clock will stop within the last 2 minutes of the 2nd half, after every whistle.

All teams must be in numbered jerseys and a team line up must be turned into the scorekeepers before the game starts.

All substitution, a bench player replacing another player on the floor must sit close to the score table to be visible to the official's and scorekeepers. Players wait until they are buzzed in by the scorekeepers and motined in by the officials.

There will be a (10) minute grace period if needed. The team must have at least (4) players on the floor to start a game and (5) players before the start of the 2nd half of the game. If not the game will be considered a forfeit. Players must be on the floor to be considered playing.

There will be a $50.00 fee for all protest made, protest must be made 15 minutes BEFORE the beginning of the game. Protest may not be made once the game starts. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS!!!

The officials will have full control of the game and all calls made by the officials are absolutely final!!

No game play will start before schedule time. Unless there are (4) or more players ready to play (refer to rule #14) Note: game may be behind schedule and forfeit games will be put all following games back on schedule.

Mercy Rule: If a team is losing by fifty (50) or more points and with eight (8) minutes of play left in the 2nd half the game, the game will be called. If a team is losing by forty (40) or more points with five (5) minutes left in the 2nd half of the game, the game will be called. If a team is losing by thirty (30) points or more with three (3) minutes left in the 2nd half of the game, the game will be called.

Technical Fouls- 1rst Technical foul will hold a fine of $75.00 & temporary ineligibility to play in the tournament. The player must pay the fee prior to sitting on the bench for 5 minutes, before they are allowed to return to the game. THE FINE MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE PLAYER CAN RESUME PLAYING in the basketball tournament. The 2nd Technical foul will be immediate termination from the tournament.

UIT Recreation Staff will not have cash on hand to make change at any time.

Coaches and/or Captains will be responsible for the behavior and conduct of their team players. Coaches and/or Captains shall make sure that they themselves, along with their players have a FULL understanding of the rules and regulations that govern the tournament.

Collegiate/NCAA rules will govern all games.

All participants will refrain from using intoxicating beverages and/or drugs during the tournament.

The Ute Indian Tribe, Ute Indian Tribe Recreation Staff, Officials and Volunteers shall be free from any liabilities, claims, injuries, damages, or theft to anyone during ANY AND ALL Basketball Tournament.

Sportsmanship is an aspiration or ethics that a sport or activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect and a sense of fellowship with one's competitors. A "Sore Loser". Refers to one who does not take defeat well, whereas "Good Sport" means being a "Good Winner" as well as being a "good loser". Sportsmanship is Defined as ethical, appropriate, polite and fair behavior while participating in a game or athletic event. The conduct and attitude of participants in sports, especially when considered commendable as in fair play, courtesy, and grace in losing.

UNSPORTMANS LIKE CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! "THREATS" weather it be physical or verbal towards any member of the Ute Indian Tribe Recreation Staff, Officials, Volunteers, Players or Spectators will result in and immediate dismissal from playing in the tournament.

Gang Activity, alcohol and Drug use are prohibited on our premises. Law Enforcements will be notified.
YOU HAVE SIGN YOUR TEAM UP! JUST LET IT BE KNOWN THAT YOU AND YOUR TEAM WILL STILL NEED TO SIGN A ROSTER WHEN GAME TIME COMES!
